Miss You Poku!

It was the 18th of April last year when I lost a dear friend right in front of my eyes. Since he had become a very important part of my life, I promised to write something for him to keep him alive forever in my heart. It was not an easy task as the very thought of him brought tears to my eyes.I could never gather the courage to write about our special bond...the good times we spent together...the games we played...and the love that we shared. So, I decided to keep these memories safe in my heart and disclose them only when I am ready for it.

For now, I dedicate these beautiful lines to my friend...(though I picked them up from the web, they convey most of my feelings)...God bless his soul!

The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.
